Art + Chocolate

In support of the Floyd County High School Art Department, “A New Leaf Gallery" invites the public to “ART + CHOCOLATE,”its annual fundraiser, Saturday, February 8, 1-4pm, in downtown Floyd inside the Station. A fun family event with an Art Gift-Basket Raffle, Door Prizes, a Chocolate Tasting Table, and the student art exhibit. Come support local art students and enjoy chocolate goodies!

The past two events at the gallery have raised close to $1,000.00 each year. We thank our community for their support and believe this year will be as successful as previous years. Funds are used to purchase art supplies and other necessities for the students. It is important to note that students with an art rich education have better grade point averages, better scores on standardized testing and lower drop-out rates.

The gallery is currently selling raffle tickets for 2 large Valentine baskets packed with art, prints and so much more. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the gallery for $1 each or 6 for $5 , and purchased at the door at the event, Saturday, February 8th. The drawing for the baskets will be just before 4pm. Winners do not need to be present for the drawing. In addition, there will be door prizes and auctioning of donations and gift certificates from local restaurants, galleries, and shops.

After your lunch save room for dessert! A heavenly array of chocolate creations will be available for $3 a plate. Gluten, dairy, and nut-free selections will be available.

A New Leaf Gallery invites visitors to our Fine Arts gallery inside the Station across from the Floyd Country Store. The Gallery offers fine art originals and prints in all media, photography, sterling silver jewelry, note cards, pottery, books by local authors and gifts. New guest artists' exhibits are scheduled every two months. For information on classes, our Guest Artist program and other events, call 540-745-7367.
