This original Oil Painting began as a demonstration on texture and color at one of my classes.  I thought it had potential to be a finished piece but felt the lonely mountain landscape needed a little life.  The horse was inspired by my other weekly class which was focusing on value studies at the time where he was a horse of a different color.  I popped him in the mountainside painting and realized he had a home.
