While reading Barbara Kingsolver’s book, The Poisonwood Bible, I was struck by a sense of connection with the sisterhood of women around the world and through the ages. Women have historically been brutalized in wars and terrorized in dysfunctional relationships and have persevered. Women have struggled to have their voices heard and yet, persevere.
This piece, titled “Sisters” is an expression of my respect for and awe of women…especially those whom we’ve never heard of, yet have persevered.
