"King of the Forest" by Bronwen Valentine
The original painting is available, reproductions will be available soon.
The sacred stag is the king of the forest, the protector of all other creatures. For the native tribes of North America, the deer was a messenger, an animal of power, and a totem representing sensitivity and intuition. For ancient European cultures the stag represented fertility, virility, and rebirth - from the death of the Winter to the return of life in the Spring. The stag's antlers branch like the tree of life and are a visual expression of the passing of time and the journey from child to elder.
Bronze and gold metallic paint details shimmer in the sunlight.
