The inspiration for this piece came from a casual afternoon drive on some of the backroads around the Buffalo Mountain area. We rounded a bend in the dirt road to see the awesome view rising up above us of this highest peak in Floyd County, VA. The mountain seemed to be keeping watch over the countryside around us.
