A weary butterfly, clearly at the end of her life cycle, chose my outdoor cook stove to quietly take her leave. She graced me with two hours to be with her, quietly sketching her her beauty. There is a breathtaking beauty and elegance in a butterfly, and an unending array of colors, shapes and sizes. And if beauty isn’t enough, these lovelies are also pollinators of some plants. These light, fluttering flyers bring a sense of magic to many and symbolize transformation, change and even a spiritual rebirth. My time with this lovely surely felt sacred.
