"Working on abstract landscapes has given me the opportunity to stretch my comfort zone. My inclination has been to work a piece until it can lose fluidity or the small things that add interest, even if they’re not intentional. In this piece, I had planned to work the larger spot of orange in the sky to diminish it because that’s what I always do. It took thinking outside my “box” and finding the strength to leave it as it is. Now I like it!"
