Created from photographs taken in the backyard at her mother's home, Selena was enthralled with the Lenten Roses, always a sign of the arrival of spring.

"My Mom has quite the mix of hellebores with colors ranging from almost entirely green to peachy to varying shades of pink. I spent a lot of time taking photos and when I returned home I started painting...and then became very frustrated...so the painting sat for two years. I pulled it back out telling myself I would finish this one, no excuses and I'm glad I did! I hope you enjoy this one." --Selena
